Just spotted this great photo of my husband’s niece (hmmm does that mean she’s my niece too??) in a rather retro frock we found while slapping the racks in the Hudson charity shops this summer. She’s obviously been having fun with that aerosol can of whipped cream …. but I don’t think we need to go there.

Tools for Self Reliance

Eagle-eyed readers will notice that us Trash Chic gals support a charity called Tools for Self Reliance (http://www.tfsr.org/). While we’ve been out and about selling over the summer months, we’ve also been collecting haberdashery items from the public to be forwarded through TFSR to Africa to help locals there make a sustainable living from tailoring. We also pledged to donate one item for every clothing or accessory sale we made on behalf of our agency clients, and have just sent our first package of goods to the charity’s UK distribution point. As the charity says: ‘Thank you so much for the haberdashery items that you sent. They¹re fantastic! Someone in Africa will be thrilled to receive them.’
