The Creative Buckleys are cooking up a storm with cravats flying out of their workshop. Here are 3 of my favourites, but you can see the full range at http://www.creativebuckley.com/christine-buckley/

Looking for something to brighten a dull February day. fluff & Nonsense are holding their first sale of gorgeousness for 2011 at Sally Bourne Workshop, Middle Lane, Crouch End, London N8 on Friday 4 February, from 7.30 to 10pm. You can buy wine and cocktails just 2 doors along at Haberdashery, then wander down to browse and buy jewellery, handbags, scarves, accessories and selected fancy home wares. Definitely one for the diary.

Rummaging through my drawers (chest of drawers, thank you!) I came across a bit of Lady Fen history. Yes, it’s moi looking very serious on a chaise longue, modelling some clothes from a range I created way back in the 80s. I actually had the brass neck to walk into Harrods and ask to see the buyer for The Zone, where they featured young designers. I secured the meeting and they placed an order. My clothes hung next to those of Pam Hogg. It was unfortunately the first and only order from Harrods but still a short lived triumph.

Our retro style aprons can now be found at the Urban Larder, Hope Street Yard, off Mill Road, Cambridge www.urbanlarder.co.uk. This is a little gem of a shop selling a fantastic range of wholesome, tasty and local produce. The sausage rolls were apparently the best my 14 year old son had ever tasted. High praise indeed. The owner, Polly, has also launched a regular market in the yard which will be open on the first Saturday of each month. Lots of other handmade goods to drool over.

UNIT 30 Project is now open to the public. Situated at the old Adam’s shop (next to Britsh Home Stores) in the Grafton Centre, Cambridge, the project is run by Changing Spaces and will be open for 8 weeks until 2 July 2010 (11am to 6pm every day).
Unit 30 is as an arts focussed public retail space which will include: exhibiting and selling artwork, design products and handmade items by locals. Trash Chic is delighted that our cushions, aprons and bags will be on display and available for purchase.
If you are an artist, designer or creative organisation that would like to exhibit and sell, or run activities in the space you need to get hold of Lisa Wilkens, Project Coordinator by emailing info@changing-spaces.org to find out more.
Lisa is very keen to hear from local people who have handmade goods they would like to showcase and sell at the outlet. It’s a great opportunity with just a small commission to pay on anything that is sold!
