Barkway beckons

This Saturday 7 May we’ll be taking our gazebo of delight to the Lower Meadow in the beautiful village of Barkway. The annual village market is an eclectic mix of stalls selling shabby chic, antiques, funky crafts … but do come and pay us a visit. We’ll have rails of affordable clothing in a wide range of styles and sizes, as well as scarves, shoes, jewellery and other accessories.

My Dr Martens. The fourth pair I have owned, but I love them none the less for that.  At what age do Dr Martens become a ‘no no’ and … am I there yet?

Black patent SAVE THE QUEEN sandals, despite the fact that it’s January.  They’re all labelled and ready for sale but I couldn’t resist a saunter around the garden in them before they leave me for ever.

7. Jewellery

Ring  by Karl Fritsch who belongs to an international avant-garde that has abandoned the traditional concept of jewellery to explore new avenues by reviving it, embedding it and approaching it in different ways. He often re-works existing pieces of jewellery, alters them, melts them down so as to create wondrous bulging and knotty, elongated or squashed shapes. Heel toe

Left, these Spot Ons are a traditional court shape with an asymmetric stripe – ideal for that smart occasion. Stocking up on colour

Coloured tights or stockings can give a plain outfit the edge. Here we have purple tights with our sparkly silver Office Vintage shoes, and turquoise mesh with a pair of Anne Michelle lime green stiletto mules. By the way, check out the fabulous fabric petal and bead detailing on those mules.

Footloose
